Every living organism on Earth, whether in water, in the air, or on Earth, needs oxygen. The process of oxygen intake and use and the organs involved in the process are collectively called and studied under the term respiratory system. The respiratory system is one of the subsystems found in all organisms, including those that belong to the category of fish, that is, animals that live in water. The respiratory system is responsible for supplying oxygen and filtering the blood for waste gases such as carbon dioxide. It carries oxygen to the lungs so that it can diffuse into the bloodstream so that blood mixed with oxygen can be pumped to all parts of the body of any organism. It not only brings air to the body, but also exhales waste gases such as carbon dioxide from the body. Gas inhalation and exhalation is called breathing. To help students understand and learn the respiratory process, you can also use the animation video of the respiratory system.
The respiratory numbers on monitor system consists of many parts of the body, that is, organs and tubes. Each part is assigned a specific task. The following are the components of the respiratory system and their functions in the respiratory process:
The nostrils: Breathing begins when air flows through the nostrils. The main function of the nostrils is to hydrate and clean the air. Cleaning is done with small hairs known as cilia in the nostrils by filtering the air for dust and other particles. We can also take air by mouth. Both are found in the pharynx
Pharynx: This part is tube-shaped. Also called a throat. It is about 12.7 cm long and extends from the nostrils and mouth to find another tube called the trachea. It serves as a passageway for air. It also plays an important role in the digestive system by providing passage for food and liquids.
Larynx: It is part of the upper trachea and also plays an important role in the voting system of the human body. Its main function is to prevent food and liquids from entering the lower airways.
Trachea: it is a wind pipe with a length of 11.4 cm. Diameter 2.5 cm. It is the esophagus. This is the main tube responsible for moving air to the lungs. It also helps draw gas from the lungs. The elastic fibers in the walls of the trachea allow you to increase and decrease the diameter.
Bronchi: word bronchi is the plural of bronchi. There are two lungs in the human body. To provide air to the lungs, the trachea is divided into two parts of the left and right bronchi, collectively called the bronchi. The left bronchus sends air to the left lung, and the right bronchus sends air to the right lung.
Lungs: The lungs are the most important part of the respiratory system. There are two lungs in the human body under the breast. The ribs protect the lungs. The best way to study how the human lung works is to use interactive methods, such as animation videos of the respiratory system.
Oxygen is necessary for the proper functioning of the human body. It is delivered through the blood to all the organs of the body, especially the brain. All the organs of the respiratory system, especially the lungs, must be kept in good condition. People should not use any form of tobacco for the healthy functioning of the respiratory system.
